Hey all.  I am new to the world of sport cars.  I have wanted a 68 since I was in High School (too long ago to discuss) and finally am able to afford an extra vehicle.  I am not a big mechanic so I decided to go new.  I am the proud owner of a 2010 VR 2SS/RS.  My wife surprised me and ordered it for my 50th birthday and I took delivery on my actual birthday!!!!

I look foward to looking through your website and getting to know your club.

Can't wait for spring to get here!!!!

PS....getting an error when trying to post pictures.  Copy paste does not work.  Attaching also does not work.

Welcome! Nice car with a great backstory! Your wife pulled off an amazing coup! If you get a chance, come to a meeting, tour, cruise, show, etc and meet with everyone. You will find us to be a quirky but personable group. You will also find that most of the club is a bit computer fobic, so we don't see the traffic on the website that some clubs support. World of Wheels is in a few weeks, we hope to see you there! Oh, there is a write up on the pictures in the Forum Admin section that should get you going there (copy and paste isn't enough, you need the pic hosted).

My wife and I are going to try to get to WOW. We will be sure to stop by. I do not have a host site for pictures yet, looks like it is time to get that set up.

Thanks for responding.

For cars, fquick is an interesting setup, you can have your whole "garage" online and reference it....

Still cannot get the pictures to post here but I now have a garage set up. If you are interested here is the URL to my Fquick Garage.

Edit by Host:

To grab this picture from fquick, right click on the picture when viewing your gallery. There will be a choice to "Copy Image Location." Once you do that, you can then come into the editor here and select the image tool (yellow box with grey mountains and sun in it). In the URL line, paste what you just got from fquick : [ i.e. http://www.fquick.com/images/vehicles/full/32294307291.jpg?1266984731]. Then go down to the size lines and set the widthe (350 shown here). You can select the centering options if you want to at that time as well. What you get is this:

Nice looking car by the way, that shot is great!

OK.  Perseverance finally paid off.  I was not able to copy the URL the way it is explained but I did get it to work finally.

So just a couple here to practice with.  Thanks for the help.  See some of you this weekend I hope.

Welcome

I've never had much luck with fquick either. None of the 3 codes they supply works to transfer to this forum type. I right click the pic, click on properties and copy/paste that to the photo icon here. I closed down my fquick account and use Webshots because, for me, it's much easier to navigate and use.

Nice car and the UP is  beautiful in the summer. Too much snow in the winter.

You can never have too much snow.  Our family is a family of snowmobilers so snow - a good time.  Also, My son is attending college in the UP.  That is why we were up there with the car......and in the winter time....wow.  Great riding.

What you quoted is how I got my pics posted.  Thanks for taking a look at them.

I was always up there in a semi making deliveries, so fighting, what seemed constant, lake effect snow got very tiring. The only time I had to shut down during a run was in a blizzard at Bruce Crossing. They had puled the plows between there and my next stop, Houghton and there were already other rigs stuck in the valleys of the hills. There is a food store open 24/7 so I, and few other drivers, stayed there and used their facilities and ate at the bar/restaurant across the street. It is a snowmobilers paradise !!!!  They were driving on the roads all night...

Welcome!

Looking forward to you and your wife at our events.

My ears were burning ..... someone mentioned snow on the forum and I was drawn to log on.!

I been riding since 1970, though I haven't gotten out  much over the last few years.  Only 300 to 1000 miles per year.   Seems the older I get, the less time I have for it.  I also restore vintage snowmobiles over the summer months when I'm not driving my 68 Camaro or fishing.

Actually, the problem is I have to many interests and commitments, so my time is spread out pretty thin.   I joined NCC a few years ago to network with people who could help me restore my 68.  One thing lead to another and now I'm very active in the club and the current Membership Director.

If you haven't become a member of NCC yet, there's no time like the present.   Joining the club is a good way to "network' with other fellow Camaro owners to find technical information, participate in Camaro related activities and socialize with people who share the similar interests as you.

Check out our calendar of events, it’s posted on our web page.  We plan many events throughout the year to hopefully satisfy everyone’s interests. These events range from car shows, tech sessions, automotive related tours and cruises.  The new year has just started and we've already have held a number of events.  The latest was this past weekend at WOW where we displayed many of our member's cars.

Best Regards,

NCC Membership Director

No tickets for Aug - Oct last year.  I did have a close call about a week after the muffler delete.  A Farmington local pulled up next to me one night and asked to hear her roar........  He heard, he complimented, he left......   Whew......

I actually find myself driving closer the the speed limit than I do in all my other cars.....must be the fear of being a ticket magnet.  I am sure they will be watching me this summer.

I am sure that at some point this year I will make a mistake.  Just hope it is not too expensive.....

Law enforcement statistis revel that red cars were the highest ticketed vehicles.  When the time comes to paint me car, it won't be red.  How about maroon with white doors.  LOL
